Rehoming Pets

Unfortunately, because college is such a transitional time in a young person’s life pets often need to be rehomed. This could be due to a college grad moving away or because someone was unware of the responsibilites of owning a pet.

“Hey everyone!

I have a Australian Shepherd named Luke! He is the worlds greatest dog! Unfortunately, my roommate is allergic to dogs so I can’t keep him at my apartment! Would anyone be interested in fostering him until June? I’ll explain more detail if you’re interested!” - Kayla M. Johnson, UCSB Free and For Sale Page 10/13/2018

“Looking for someone to adopt our 1 year old pup, Ivy. We have to get rid of her because one of our roommates changed her mind about her, but the rest of us LOVE her. She’s potty trained, crate trained, rarely barks, and loves other dogs. She just gets pretty hyperactive around dogs, but I’m 5’0 and weak and I can handle her.

However, we prefer for someone out of IV to adopt her so that we know she’ll have a more stable home with a family that’ll keep her forever. If you wanna bring her home to your family or know someone looking for a pup, please let me know. I can drop off in LA, OC, also willing to drive to the IE.

ALSO, she’s a 55 pounds husky/pit/lab but really just a big baby. We’ll include all her food, bed, and toys, and maybe discuss a fee for crate, bowls, towels, collars (we have a few different kinds) and harnesses. Just wanna make sure she goes to someone who can afford her. Adoption date is flexible!” - Brittany Danh, UCSB Free and For Sale Page 12/8/18

“NOT SELLING BUT LOOKING TO REHOME CAT

I will be relocating back down to OC late June after my graduation ceremony. Unfortunately where I am going I can not bring back my beloved cat while I am in this transitional period of my life. I am reaching out to see if anyone would be willing to foster him while I save and search for my own apartment. I would pay for all his expenses but am unsure of how long this situation will be. Since I understand that is asking a lot I am aware I most likely will not find someone willing to help in this way, but if you know of anyone looking to adopt a cat please let me know. Re-homing him will be difficult but it is my only other option if I cannot find a temporary home for him. He is very sweet and loving but does have some behavioral issues that can be discussed further if interested and he does not do well with other animals. I cannot bear the thought of having to bring him to a shelter and having him potentially not be re-adopted so please let me know of anyone that would be interested in either of these situations and feel free to share my information with them. Thank you all” - Kiana Donaldson, UCSB Free and For Sale Page 5/24/18

“Hi! My roommate Camille Situ and I have two wonderful pets – a dwarf bunny, Latte, and a guinea pig, Mocha. We love them very much but having to always find sitters for them when we go home is getting more and more difficult.

If you would like to adopt one or both, please reach out! We will not be charging and you can have all of our supplies and cages. We hope that they have a good home after us” - Jocelyn Leung, UCSB Free and For Sale Page 6/17/18
